Andy Clarke on forabeautifulweb.com has written an interesting article exploring the options web designers/developers have for dealing with IE6’s standards non-compliance. He summarizes six common approaches and then goes on to share his universal stylesheet for IE6. It’s a utopian approach enviable to anyone in a design position who wishes they could just kiss IE6 goodbye. (In case you forgot, IE6 is over 7 years old!) For those of us dealing with clients who are themselves still using IE6 due to the restraints of their own IT departments it is not likely to be an acceptable solution. Dean Edwards ie7-js scripts do bring us a glimmer of hope in the bleak IE6 mid-winter. And for those of you with any say in the matter, upgrade to IE8 or Firefox today!
